The regular use of Sunscreen has been proven to reduce Solar Elastosis (aging) and pre and malignant skin cancers. The daily use of Sunscreen could help in the prevention of dark pigmentation (melasma) and other blemishes.

​Ultra Violet Rays
There are three types of UV rays, but only UVA/UVB reach the earth’s surface.
UVA: Is responsible for pigmentation, premature aging and some tumors.
UVB: Is responsible for redness, sunburn, and pre-malignant lesions of the skin as well as some type of skin cancer..

​Sun Protection Measures​​​​​​​​​​​​
- Avoid unnecessary sun exposure between 10am – 4pm.
- Avoid UV reflecting suffices such as sand, water & snow.
- Eliminate photosensitizing drugs (ask your doctor)
- Use daily and re apply often
- Remember to apply sunscreen daily under office light (UVA) and​​
- While driving (UVB).
Choose A UVA/UVB Sunscreen​​​​​​​​​​​​
- Choose a sunscreen that is labeled full spectrum, broad spectrum or UVA/UVB sunscreen.
- Look for titanium dioxide and zinc oxide in its formulation.
- When reading a sunscreen remember that the SPF # only represents the UVB coverage. (30+ is recommended by the FDA)
- UVA protection on a sunscreen is usually expressed with or + sign, 3 being the maximum.
